5 Great places to eat in Jackson, Wyoming
Written By: Sarah Reish
Jackson has some amazing restaurants. While in town, we checked out a handful of establishments and enjoyed every bite. From breakfast to lunch and dinner, here are some places we loved - none of these places sponsored this content and this is merely our thoughts on our experiences.
Breakfast at D.O.G. in Jackson
Our friend Stu told us we had to check out D.O.G. for breakfast. We are so glad he told us about it. This small unassuming “shack” serves up some of the best breakfast burritos we have had in a while. They have been serving their amazing breakfasts and lunches for 20 years and are known for their Classic Breakfast Burrito. You can get it medium or hot and vegetarian or with meat. You do not want to miss this eatery, so be sure to check it out next time you are in town.
Liberty Burger
In need of a lunch after our adventure into the Tetons, we hit up Liberty Burger. Looking for good natural food, we enjoyed the ambiance and casual atmosphere. Their Give Back Burger donates proceeds to charities - how neat is that! We love giving back, so we tried the Give Back Burger, grilled cheese, fries and onion rings and everything was amazing! Definitely check this place out while you are in Jackson.
Merry Piglets
Since 1969, The Merry Piglets has been serving up Mexican food to the town of Jackson and of course we had to check it out. Their street taco menu is hands down amazing - be sure to explore the taco truck menu. Be warned, the tacos al pastor are spicy, but oh so delicious - I could not put it down. The grilled steak and kickin’ chicken tacos were mouth watering. This restaurant needs to be on your list of places to eat, and we applaud their commitment to quality as it has kept this eatery a staple in the community.
Roadhouse
Okay, we already talked about the beers we enjoyed while we were visiting roadhouse, but the food cannot be ignored. We were enamored with their selection and ended up eating here a couple of times, it is that good! The collaboration between the kitchen and brewery is immediately noted as their menu pairs the food with the beer. For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious cheesesteak sandwich and fries. It set us up for our day of adventures. When we came back for our tasting and meeting with head brewer Max, we enjoyed their Chili Relleno Bites, Beer pretzels, and Banh Mi flatbread. The appetizers were shared with a group of us and paired with the beer we were tasting. After the appetizers and beer tasting, we took some photos and then joined the other patrons for their Ramen night, which benefits local charities. The ramen was delicious and featured locally sourced mushrooms and pork belly. We encourage all to experience this restaurant and brewery while in Jackson.
Thai Me Up
Again, this another eatery we have spoken about, but this list would be incomplete without including Thai Me Up. The appetizers are out of this world. If Thai food and a fun atmosphere are what you are in search of, be sure to stop by this eatery while you are in town. The Shishito Peppers are delicious and cooked to perfections and the Crab Rangoons and Potstickers are some of the best we have had. The serving size is large so after our appetizers we share the Thai Basil Fried rice with steak. The rice was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of spice. Don’t forget this is where Melvin Brewing was first created! So, grab your favorite brew and enjoy the fun atmosphere of the bar or the all season porch. This is another must try restaurant we encourage you to add to your list and visit while in Jackson.
