A tasting with Wyoming 310
Written By: Sarah Reish
When our friends and Live WYld sponsor’s Wyoming 310 announced they were doing a tasting event we knew we couldn’t miss it. We hit the road and headed to Deaver and the Wyoming 310 Restaurant. Where Morgan and Melanie had a guest chef and brought in Missoula, Montana’s Kettle House Brewing Co. beer, which is now available in Wyoming.
The Food
The menu was an international beer pairing where the menu started in Germany and ended with Spanish Flan. The pairing was amazing and developed to compliment both the food and the beer. As always, Wyoming 310 sources as much of their ingredients locally, as seasonally possible. We knew it was going to be a fresh and delicious dinner.
The Pairing
First Course
German Brotchen Hard Roll with creamy beer cheese. It was paired with Kettle House’s Fish On, hazy IPA. The roll was amazing and the beer cheese (made with Kettle House beer) was creamy and the perfect start to the tasting.
Second Course
Italian Tomato Caprese paired with Shady New England style IPA. The caprese was fresh and one of my favorite salads. It was paired with the perfect beer which kept the course fresh and light.
Third Course
Greek Kabobs with whipped feta tzatziki paired with Cold Smoke. I typically do not go for dark beers, but this was a lovely beer with notes of coffee. The kabobs were tenders and the tzatziki was incredible.
Fourth Course
The Spanish Caramel Flan was delicious and paired with Kettle House’s Strawberry Milkshake IPA. What a refreshing and unique beer. I had never had a beer like that and enjoyed the opportunity to try it.
