Our Favorite Places to Visit in Wyoming

Written By: Sarah Reish

Okay, so we had a ton of categories we covered for this issue featuring the Best of Wyoming. This one is highlighting our favorite spots that we didn’t have a category for. Choosing these was easy, eliminating from this list was hard.

The Golf Club at Devils Tower

The Golf Club at DevilsTower is a private club, located in Hulett, that has memberships available, but it is also open to the public for dining and golfers can golf one time without a membership. We were able to tour the club and golf. Its immaculate course, amazing course design, and wonderful staff make this a destination for golf enthusiasts.

Location:

77 Tower View Drive

Hulett, WY 82720

Why it’s on the list for the Best of Wyoming: While this is a private course, they support the community in a multitude of ways. They built and donated the airport, are funding medical facilities and more! We truly loved our experience, the views, the course and their commitment to Hulett.

Oil City Axe Company

We experienced axe throwing for the first time in 2021. Darbi, owner of Oil City Axe Company, was amazing to get to know and her staff is fantastic. BYOB and bring your own food and settle in for some fun with friends and family.

Location & Hours:

801 North Center Street,  Casper, WY 82601

Sunday- Tuesday closed

Thursday -4pm-9pm

Friday-Saturday 4pm-11pm

Why it’s on the list for the Best of Wyoming: It’s fun! This made the list because it is focused on spending time together, having fun and doing something physical.

Wyoming Rodeos - Cody Nite Rodeo & Cody Stampede

We are in cowboy country and nothing beats going to a rodeo and celebrating the west! We have had the opportunity to attend multiple Cody Nite Rodeos and the Cody Stampede Rodeo over the 4th Of July during 2021, and each rodeo is unique and different.

Location & Hours:

519 West Yellowstone Ave, Cody, WY 82414

Nightly 8 pm (gates open at 7 pm), June - August

Why it’s on the list for the Best of Wyoming: It’s the Rodeo Capital of the World! Starting in 1938, it is the only nightly rodeo in the world. Officially starting in 1919, the 4th of July rodeo and parade have been held every summer.

Camping in Wyoming

I don’t care where we go, the camping is always amazing here in Wyoming, wind aside. From Alcova to Guernsey when we were using established campgrounds, to camping dispersed and off grid in Vedauwoo or the Bighorns, each experience has been incredible and memorable. We have camped in many locations and cannot get enough of it.

Location & Hours:

Year round and whenever you want!

Why it’s on the list for the Best of Wyoming: Camping is the best medicine. It rejuvenates the soul and gives us a moment to unplug and recenter, concentrating on what is most important. It also gives us the opportunity to explore, fish, hike and appreciate the amazing nature and outdoor recreation the state has to offer.

Hit the road!

Get out of the house, take a day trip, try something new

and check out our amazing home here in Wyoming. These were some of the highlights from 2021 and we want to know what your favorite experiences are.
