Meet our dog, Coda!

“Take a Hike”, we don’t take offense to this statement; In fact we celebrate it! Nothing is better than the outdoors, exploring nature, and finding new places to share with all of you! A hike can include fishing, picnics, and of course, photography. We like all of the above. We especially enjoy a hike with friends and our dog, Coda!

Some of our favorite hikes are in the Big Horn Mountains and Sunlight Basin, which is part of Shoshone National Forest. We have photographed and flown our drone to capture video of our favorite terrain and dispersed camping spot. We always enjoy hiking around exploring wooded areas and we have even found the perfect walking stick!

One portion of the Big Horns that we love is on the North side. Taking Highway 14 to Devils Canyon Road - a dirt road, the horse corrals are next the road so you cannot miss it. Taking any of the trails you are sure to find some amazing dispersed camping and great hiking! Our hikes have led us to caves and to the edge of cliffs with amazing views!

In Sunlight Basin we have found, and love, black sand beaches along the Clarks Fork River and spend afternoons fishing and relaxing at the hidden gems that have left us alone to enjoy nature.

In the the United States there are more than 60,000 miles of hiking trails in the National Trail System. In Wyoming there are 386 trails that range from .06 to 133.4 miles in length and 0 elevation to 13,681 feet in altitude. Yellowstone National Park has more than 900 miles of hiking trails.

On average you can burn 370 - 550 calories an hour from hiking! Enjoy your hike and stay bear aware!
