Pal-entine’s Day at Wyoming 310
Written By: Stephanie Weed
In Deaver, Wyoming the very best place to celebrate the people we cannot live without on Galentine’s(Also known as Palentine’s) Day
(February 13th…It is seriously a National Holiday)
Some call it a fake Holiday but let’s be real, most holidays have a hidden agenda to market or sell something anyway, am I right? As far as holidays go I have to say this one is a win-win if you look at it this way, February 14th is coming and most romantic partners/married people are stressing thinking about how they will really shine this year, or for some, how they won’t mess up. Palentine’s Day gets everyone’s romantic partner out of their hair or gives singles the opportunity to celebrate their treasured friendships, male or female-which is always a good idea!
The Galentine’s Day holiday was actually introduced in 2010 through the sitcom “Parks and Recreation.” The show’s protagonist Leslie Knope, played by former SNL star Amy Poehler, celebrated her friends with a mimosa brunch in the episode called “Galentine’s Day.”
Knope explained it best: “Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”
I am not sure how it became official but it is. The guidelines have evolved to include not just brunch with your ladies, mimosas, and frittatas, but lunch, happy hour, appetizers, and dinner with anyone close to your heart. So take advantage, round up your favorite pals, and enjoy!
If you are anywhere near Deaver or the Big Horn Basin I suggest you set the stage for your celebration with delicious, fun, homemade appetizers, entrees, and craft cocktails with the M Sisters Morgan and Melanie at their restaurant Wyoming 310.
Everything I have ever eaten there is amazing but If I may be so bold as to recommend a bunch of dishes for sharing try the Vineyard Mushrooms (with extra bread to dip in the luscious sauce), freshly made Chips with bacon ranch dip, Hand Battered (jumbo) Fried Shrimp with raspberry habanero dipping sauce, and lastly, you cannot, nor will you ever forget the Wyo Fries. I am not even going to describe them because you just have to try them. You will thank me. Promise
For those of you not near Deaver for Palentine’s Day-get there when you can. I am sure you will find cause to celebrate.
