Wyoming’s Willow Creek Trail & Rock Shop Bouldering - Public Access Via Rock Shop Inn

Access to public lands isn’t always easy to find or get to - especially when navigating around private property. While we were hanging out and meeting the locals at Lander Bar we met an amazing individual who is offering long lost access into the Bureau of Land Management and Shoshone National Forest lands that features trails and rock climbing. The person is Anthony and the property allowing access is The Rock Shop Inn.

The property

We were blown away when we arrived. Anthony told us to come and visit and he shared a little about his property, but we didn’t expect such an amazing lodge or beautiful cabins. The snow was fresh and Rocksie (the dog, best friend to all, and mascot of Rock Shop Inn) met us at the gate. The property features a lodge, garage, bath house for campers (which is coming soon), and currently has 3 full cabins, and 1 duplex unit available for rent.

The amenities

The lodge & saloon

This spring the Rock Shop Inn lodge will be opening a newly refinished saloon. Guests can relax inside the lodges rustic and massive saloon and enjoy a drink, food, and music. The saloon features oversized log furniture and rustic decor. Anthony shared that while the kitchen is being remodeled the bar will be offering pizza and other snacks. Visitors and guests of the saloon can also purchase liquor as the saloon will also be functioning as a retail liquor store.

The cabins

Anthony has been hard at work renovating the cabins at Rock Shop Inn. He currently offers 3 modern-rustic cabins for guests, which are available now for rent. There is also a duplex with one unit for rent. We were able to take a peak inside one of the cabins and they are beautiful. The unit offers guests a full kitchen with stainless steel gas stove, oversized bed, and living space. The property features a pond and the cabin we explored had a large deck overlooking the water front. You can explore more about the cabins here.

Camping

Anthony is encouraging campers to visit the Rock Shop Inn. His property offers 50, 30, amp and regular hookups for campers. The spots are not pull through, however they are situation adjacent to the pond on property. Allowing campers direct access to the trails and climbing areas as well as amenities on property.

Things to do

Because the property is directly connected to BLM Land and the Shoshone National Forest the area is teaming with things to do including climbing, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ATVing, camping, and fishing. Anthony explained he is working to get the word out that he has opened the gate and is allowing public access to the Willow Creek Trails and Rock Shop Bouldering area. Guests and visitors can access the areas via the trails boarding his property.
